    Abraham-Hicks abide by the law of attraction philosophy that everything stems from how you feel.  If you feel good, good things are attracted to you.  A way to feel good is to think good thoughts that trigger good feelings.  The goal is to create good thoughts that lead to good feelings that attract good things that create good thoughts.  A law of attraction cycle of prosperity occurs and things keep amplifying.
    There are a number of law of attraction “gurus” that parrot out similar information.  Something about Abraham-Hicks rings more true for me than others I have heard.  I have seen Esther and Jerry Hicks live in Chicago, read a couple of their books, and now listened to the meditations provided with the Getting Into the Vortex guide book.
    I recall that after originally hearing Esther channel Abraham in person, I was a convert of the highest order.  I got so excited I rushed out and ordered dozens of law of attraction books.  The ensuing flood of information unknowingly created a tsunami of attraction for me.  I attracted confusion on how exactly to achieve what I wanted.
    Some people told me to make exact goals; others said don’t set a goal because it restricts how success can find you.  Some people told me to make exact timelines of when I will receive things; others said just ask and expect it to come.  Some people told me to write affirmations with “I am now in the process of” if it wasn’t true yet; others said to write the affirmations as if they were already true.
    If I hadn’t used the Getting Into the Vortex meditation cdGetting Into the Vortex guided meditations and user guide before typing this blog post, I would probably have a tension headache from thinking about the vortex of confusion I had created by straying from the Abraham-Hicks teachings!
    The simplicity of simply focusing on how I feel at all times is advice I can remember when the day gets busy.  I like how Jerry Hicks says in the preface “I only remember 3 things Abraham ever told us.  Feel good, breathe deep, and drink lots of water” (I’m paraphrasing from memory).  I imagine he is exaggerating to make a point, and it’s a great one that has stuck with me.
    After 8 days of rotating through their 4 daily meditations, I have noticed some positive benefits.  I have reappeared as #1 on Google for “meditation positions” and #2 for “meditation software” after having been dropped out of the rankings recently.  My family life is better than ever.  We received free tickets on the 50 yard line for the Patriots-Lions football game.  Not a bad 8 days in my book.
