Scott and Maximus April 9 2013

Please read this account of a recent stressful time. I’m curious to know your opinion of the voice I heard in my head.

It was this past Easter Sunday night and my son Maximus was receiving his 2nd CT scan of the night. We had rushed him to the hospital for an ear infection that took a turn for the worse. This scan was going to tell us if the infection had spread inside of his skull, or was “only” on the surface.

Any parent would be willing to trade places with their son at this point. I was no different.

My attempt to communicate and facilitate trading places went something like this:
• I attempted to project “out into the universe” that I am willing to trade places with whatever he has going on.
• I started trying to sense the onset of an ear infection inside my own ears.
• I kept sending out a heart-felt vibration of “let me take what Max has”.

At this point, I stayed quite nervous, but an additional sensation held equal prominence. The area of internal sensation that I know to be my chest had expanded by about 5 times its size. If my eyes were closed, it felt like I had a chest diameter measurement of about 7 feet wide.

The sensation temporarily distracted me from the situation but only for a moment. Max’s irritation with having his 2nd CT scan in a few hours quickly snapped me back to his predicament.

I earnestly tried another attempt to help. With all the force in my mind I could muster, I said “Tell me what to do. I will do anything to make sure he is ok.”

I immediately heard back “Live your passion.” This seems ludicrous to type right now, but it came through immediately, forcefully, and didn’t sound like me (granted this was inside my own head so just bear with me on that one).

Scott and Maximus April 9 2013

Scott and Maximus April 9 2013

I discarded that statement and repeated my request. I heard back the same thing. So I decided to engage whatever it was that was communicating with me.

Me – “That doesn’t make sense.”
It – “Fine. But that’s all you have to do.”
Me – “So you’re telling me that is all I have to do and everything will be fine here.”
It – “Yes”
Me – “Well this is the easiest deal ever, I’m in.”
It – “Ok”

At that point I dismissed the voice and went back to my worrying. But I had the immediate intuition that I had to blog about this encounter in my head as a sign I’m keeping the deal.

We’ve been home from the hospital 5 days now and every day I get nervous when I think about how I haven’t blogged about this. Then Max had a cough last night and I began to terrify myself with thoughts that I was pathetic if I could not find the time to write a blog about the room.

My reluctance was because it seems quite selfish and bizarre that I would receive that type of a message in such a crucial time. I have no idea how it relates to Maximus going through all of his ear drama, but he definitely has the wise old soul vibe to him.

That got me thinking. Who/what did I exactly hear?
Was it the Voice of God answering my personal request?
Was it my Higher Self, or Soul, giving me a directive?
Did my subconscious mind in its anxiety grab onto a topic that I am always reading about?
Or a totally random thought that I am wasting everyone’s reading time with?

In my opinion it was my Higher Self telling me this. My reasoning is an entirely different blog post altogether. If there is enough interest I’ll explain why.

Let me hear what you think:

    What is your passion?
And how might it affect your son (and the rest of us) if your were to truly, fully live it? After all, within you – now – is the ‘point of power’. How might your son’s ear infection be a reflection of your own thoughts, beliefs, unconscious goings on and how might it all shift were that to change?
Questions for us all to address, for sure.

      Hi Denise!

Thank you for the reminder that the point of power is within me at this moment.

I joked with my wife recently that perhaps I should create a spiritual eNag function to remind myself every hour of my spiritual beliefs so I stop forgetting them when something mundane like a bill or traffic or anything for that matter that can be transcended from within (which is everything).

      Take it easy,

I have a very wyrd story about a daughter I lost years ago.
I think the top two choices above are the same thing. I’m developing a site to share things like this, but it’s a while away yet.
I’m reading this book right now, http://www.greatsimulator.com/

    Hello,

very interesting story, I have had a very similar experience as far as hearing a reply to an answer in my head and knowing it’s wasn’t me. I struggle understanding what responded? was it God or higher self. I think it was a higher self because I know we have portions of us that try to help or guide us in a way that is not intrusive or leading. So, when you asked the question at such a stressful time they or it was able to communicate. The expansion of the chest was probably to distract you from worring to have clear communication. This is just what I think I still don’t know for sure.
    Thanks,
    Chantelle

      Hi Chantelle,

Thank you for reading. I believe it to be higher self -> http://themeditationmind.com/2013/04/part-of-the-whole-and-yet-separate/ , which is part of God.

You brought up a good point on clear communication. It takes practice to be able to clearly hear and translate nonphysical guidance..no differently than if you were learning a foreign language.

I don’t know how to answer because I think the voice of God is/can be the same as the intuition. That doesn’t mean I don’t wonder if I’m crazy or if it’s my imagination at times:-)

      Hi Gayle,

Back in old times the imagination was a refined skill that was heavily taught and practiced. That being said, I think this was higher self, which is a part of God.

Scott, while it is quite natural for any parent to be concerned about the health of their child, you must remember that when you focus on that you give that “problem” energy. I believe that your higher self/voice of God/whatever you wish to call it was telling you to focus on what you do, which is your passion, and that will divert your energy away from Maximus’s “problem” and allow creator to do the healing. Just my thoughts as a healer and friend.

Scott & Max, While our very materialistic Western philosophy has given us CT scans to help Max, it has also made us afraid to express our intuitions for fear of ridicule or incarceration. It took guts to write this blog. You are not crazy. You hold down a job, you’ve made a home for your family, you lead people without trying to control them. If you were a homeless bum with delusions of grandeur, then I’d worry about your mental health.
You are part of a 3000 year old tradition that listens to their intuition/Higher Self/God/ gods/saints/angels/etc. The names change over the centuries. The impulse or voice is the same.
When I seek help for my child, I’ll include you and Max.

      Hi Joy,

At the highest level we can perceive as spiritual beings having this human experience, I would say that All That Is (Etc, pick your name) is the Source. But as Source descends down into the material level, it manifests and is experienced differently.

One challenge is “Should everything merely be interpreted as Source”? That doesn’t ring true to me to merely smile and say “Ahh, Source energy” whenever anything in life happens. I will say that I personally feel that Source may be behind certain experiences, or Higher Self might be helping create learning simulations for some higher purpose we don’t fully comprehend yet. Those learning situations are ultimately for Source so…this deserves a blog post!

I don’t need other people’s assessment. But I was definitely curious. Results posted this week if you are also curious.

      Take it easy,
      Scott

    Hi Scott,
Voice of God/Higher Self/ Soul etc. it’s all the same, humans like to compartmentalize everything, we are all made up of the original “God Stuff”. Our ability to communicate with that source is hampered by all the garbage we’ve accumulated throughout our lives, in moments of desperation we sometimes manage to find a clear channel and hear this voice from within which unerringly seeks to guide or answer your questions. Just listen.
I would say that the mere fact that you are engaged in a search for “enlightenment” by engaging in mind control etc, you are already aligning/aligned with “source”. Doubt is a killer of things that could be, and a powerful antagonist. Don’t give in to doubt.
I could chalk all of the above to a compilation of the things I’ve learned throughout the years, however in my periods of earnest yearnings to know the answer to subtle and profound things the answers have come from within before the question is complete. Sometimes years later some of those answers have been put forward by spiritual teachers and science. Open your heart and acknowledge the infinite that resides within.
    Peace Brother.

Because you separated God from your higher self and soul I could not vote. They are all the same, in one way or another they all track back to one Devine.
The activation of your heart would be an indication it was from something higher.
Thank your son for playing his part in making you move.
This is going to be the hardest part for all of us in the near future. Realizing each of us has their own path and we must accept and honor that, no matter how that makes us feel. Sorry not meaning to sound clumb here.
If we remember to meet everything with Love the way you did Scott it will all work out.

      I agree!
God does speak and move and view our heart because God is Love. Man looks at the outer appearance in judgement which is why Scott may have been fearful in sharing his encounter due to the views of man.

Great news. Makes sense that this communion occurred during a very stressful time. I am so relieved to hear that Maximus is fine.
Would love to know more about your passion( providing that it is any of my business) so that I may possibly be of support or encouragement
As you know, Pam made a deal with Argo. So if your passion lies in the realm of mediumship or the likes, you got my vote.

      Susy,

I forgot about that deal, can you email me details and/or give me a call? Would love to catch up!

My passion is to live free and inspire others to do the same. Defining freedom is easy for me to internally feel and visualize but it’s still formulating the right way to say in words. I think anything that allows a spiritual being to choose the most optimal total self response to a given experience to maximize evolution at that point in time. (Tom Campbell, Kurt Leland, Robert Monroe, Louise Hay, and Course in Miracles, applied to daily stuff that comes up)

      Love to you also,

The top 2 choices to me are somewhat the same. Live your passion to me says “get your eyes off the problem–let go and let God take care of everything.” Living your passion means doing what you are meant to do. That can include being a good dad by keeping calm in a situation because your son needed you at your best because if you were frazzled, he could sense your worry and not be able to relax and let his “healing” begin.

LISTEN UP! If your inner self is willing to do all this to get your attention then what he has to say is VERY IMPORTANT. This is a CRITICAL point in your life in Which you MUST make the right decision.

Further this also suggests you are not listening in the way you should. You need to work on this. I follow my intuition/inner self. Sometimes what he has to say is helpful, other times what he has to say is CRITICAL. Your quality of life depends on listening now! I wish you and yours the best. Remmber your innerself loves you. You can trust if It really comes from him it is to your benefit.

Homework – Ask your innerself ANYTHING and everthing you want to know. He will answer. Do this, It works!

Robb – Sometimes I feel like it’s the movie Groundhog Day, where yet again I need to be reminded of my Higher Self’s role in everything…and I agree with you, this was like getting a bucket of water dumped in your face!

I’m trying better this week than last week, so that’s progress I think 🙂

Thanks for the homework. I’ve never done it before when coming up through school, but this sounds like a fun assignment.

Interestingly, Scott, i’ve heard the ‘voice’ also. A different situation, many years ago, but clearly and distinctly a ‘voice’ (not a gut feeling or a sense of something…definitely and clearly a voice) responding to a heartfelt question that had been put out to the Universe/Cosmic. I, too, asked a second time and again, clearly and distinctly, heard the voice repeat the same thing. I’ve held to and abided by that response for all these many years and feel that in so doing my life has/is/will ever be enriched … may yours be also!

When (if) you hear The Voice of God, you will have no doubt that it was God’s voice. I know. I heard it one time only, 48 years ago, and I immediately had no doubt. No doubt at all.

Your “voice” was your inner dialog, responding in stress with a distracting, perhaps calming, thought. That has allowed you to focus on something, anything, other than the crisis that makes you feel helpless.

    Best wishes.

No doubt necessary: if you ask really hard, you will get your answer!
The name of the source seems unimportant to me.
And could your son’s ear-problem be mirroring something you were struggling with? Children often are perfect mirrors . . .

      Peter,

I did not consider that the problem could be a mirror. I have it on good intuitive counsel that Maximus is a transcendental soul and maybe this is one of many mirrors he is going to provide.

His hearing block was in the left ear, which if my limited brain functionality knowledge serves correct (hold on quick google…ok, i’m back), yes, it seems left ear hearing corresponds with right brain processing. Right brain is the creative and intuitive side of the brain. So it could be interpreted that I was not hearing my intuition and this problem was a rather intense way to hear that.

I did just watch “This is 40” last night and am immediately reminded of Paul Rudd’s character (the dad) saying “While you went to your weirdo Indian doctor I gave our kid antibiotics and that’s why her ear got better”, so I am hesitant to say that all of this was related to my temporary ignorance of intuition.

Regardless, going to listen to Source more, and thank you for the comment.

Glad to hear that Maximus is doing well. I’m taking a shot in the dark here, but If I know you, you are passionate about bringing and keeping positive vibes in any situation. Dodging the negativity, and rendering it useless. The things you do, whether it’s meditation, writing, or projection are essentially just ways or mechanisms to bring positive light into your or others’ lives. These actions, as well as their results are contagious. By you focusing on YOUR positive energy, you ultimately share it with Maximus and anyone else that’s connected with you. So blogging about it makes you feel better, and this emotion is channeled outwards. There is no “selfish” in this equation. That’s how I see it.

Science cannot explain why our brain moves from what they called 0 point consciousness. Every 15 seconds, something like that, our mind moves from what is tangible (seen, worldly), to intangible (unseen, unworldly, unknown). They know it exists yet can’t figure out what taps into our consciousness to deliver these thoughts.

For me personally, after having a near death experience, not believing in God at the time, actually met with what Christians call GOD, and put my mind to rest about who’s in my head, me or God.

Ultimately, in the end our minds, because the brain 90% of the time reflects on the tangible, that is our EGO, that is inner-SELF; but if we quiet that inner voice long enough, we will hear the small still voice within that comes from our Creator.

Hope this helps!!! and P.S: if you are wondering why you posted this Blog, if anything it was meant for me because I’ve been asking GOD, who comes first, my kids or His mission for me through my passion, and you confirmed what I was hearing. My passion will be what compliments the up-bringing to my children and build a foundation of true inner-peace.

      HI Gwendolyn,

I believe Skip Atwater, former director of research at the Monroe Institute and the Stargate government program, said that we flip back and forth between tangile and intangile 40 times per second, or something close to that. It always makes me think of a computer processor rapidly creating the reality based on various inputs.

I am in the process of integration the master intention into my life which goes something like “Let everything be done in service, for the greater good of all, as an expression of life purpose, and bringing myself and others close to the source”. This neatly and concisely compliments what you mentioned.

      Take care,
      Scott

Dear Scott, Blessings to you and your son. I am so happy he was able to leave the hospital. As with several others, I can’t tell you the source of something inside you (the voice). I agree that whether it was your own wisdom, a nonphysical guide, or God itself, you can trust it if you feel Love/peace, and you may wish to question it if you feel stress/tension. You mentioned an expansive chest, but not a specific emotion.

My sense is that the message was less about the actual healing process and more about limitation. First, you asked to take what Max had, then you said you would do anything. You offered solutions from yourself, but the wisdom was that all you needed to do was imagine that Maximus was healed and healthy, and trust that you would be guided each step of the way. By assuming his healing involved specific action on your part, especialy transferring the illness which may not have served your highest good, you may have limited the available inspiration. And I believe that overcoming limitation is your passion. Given the stress you were under, I think you did great! Let me know if this resonates. Blessings and namaste, Nate
